EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM - The City with the assistance of Region 22 Emergency Management uses "Panhandle Alert" as its official emergency notification system. Sign up for "Panhandle Alert" at www.panhandlealert.org to receive customized alerts by text message, email, voice message and on social media (Facebook and Twitter).
UTILITIES PAYMENTS - CASH PAYMENT & DEBIT/CREDIT CARD PAYMENT accepted during office hours only. CHECK, MONEY ORDER or CASHIER'S CHECK PAYMENT accepted during office hours or by depositing in the payment box located in front of the City Office.
YARD WASTE - Will begin in April and will run through October. Yard waste containers will be picked up every Thursday beginning on April 4. Please have your yard waste containers out by 5:00 a.m. on Thursdays. No extra pick-ups will be conducted.
WATER METER PROJECT - The Contractors are currently working on getting meter pits, services, and concrete poured on SPRING VALLEY LANE and WEST STREET. The Pipe Contractor has gotten the main line installed on CRESTVIEW/RIDGE DRIVE and are finishing up on CANYON DRIVE. In the next few weeks, the Pipe Contractor will be moving into the HILLTOP AREA to finish up laying pipe. The Meter Contractor will be moving into the BELLEVUE ADDITION to install service lines and meters. If you have any questions regarding the project, you may contact Mike Olsen with M.C. CODE ENFORCEMENT - Code Enforcement Officer Anne Reker will perform a variety of enforcement of procedures related to nuisance violations of city ordinances including matters of overgrown vegetation, junk and refuse, obstructions of public right-of-ways, abandoned vehicles and trailers, and other property-related nuisance complaints. If you suspect a nuisance violation, please report it to the City Office at 632-7212.
OUTDOOR WARNING SIREN TESTING - Will be conducted on the second Wednesday of each month through October.
MOSQUITO SPRAYING - The City has contracted with the City of Gering to spray for mosquitoes in residential areas, in the parks and on trails beginning on Tuesday, June 18. Spraying will continue every Tuesday and Thursday weather permitting for the remainder of the mosquito season.
